Ordering information for 2012

*************************************************

VnV Studios is open to a LIMITED number of custom orders in 2012. PLEASE inquire if there is room for you before sending anything to me.

All orders are to be paid in full before models will be sent. If you are looking for me to paint a model body you have please continue reading for important information.

I do not remake, resculpt, reposition, rehair or repair. I offer paint jobs and simple prepping only.

Quality

I believe in creating beautiful custom models of quality. However I do not at all state that my horses are suitible for live showing. My horses are intended for display or photo showing purposes only. If you choose to live show them that is your right but I DO NOT at all guarantee they will show well in a live show.

My models sometimes have small flaws such as MINOR brushstrokes or imperfect seams. Most times my brushstrokes are small and in the direction of hair growth. If this will extremely bother you please find another artist. I strive to do the best I can but I am not striving for perfection and if you are you will need an artist seeking the same goals as you are.

Portraits

I love doing portrait models. However these WILL take longer than normal models to insure they are accurate. From 2012 on if the markings on your horse are unusual or have lots of detail there may be an extra charge for the time invested in them. I will only change markings ONCE on a portrait model from now on. Please send me good quality pictures and try to be as accurate as possible when describing what needs changed. I can't guarantee your model will be an exact copy. I will get it as close as I can to your photos.

Prepping

I will do SIMPLE prepping on OF plastic horses of Breyer and similar makes only. This includes removing the seams and logo to the best of my ability. Please note I do not normally charge extra for prepping but due to the huge amount of horrible seams I had to sand in 2011 I MAY charge if your model has such bad seams.

However if you are extremely picky about perfect prepping please seek the help of a prepper before sending the model to me. I do not guarantee perfect prep work. Please note if you are wanting a different brand painted and prepped please email me first with what brand it is.

I do not prep Schleichs or Safari or similar rubbery horses if you want them prepped please send them to me prepped. Please note I also cannot guarantee that these models will never become sticky. Some never do, some have in the past due to the type of plastic they are and the lack of experience in the hobby with these brands it's hard to say what causes some to go sticky at this time.

At this time I do not carve out nostrils, ears, hooves, or heel bulbs. I do not have the tools to do this correctly so I do not offer this service. If you'd like this done on your model please find a prepper before sending it to me.

I will not strip horses or prep horses that were already badly prepped by someone else or customized in any way.

Plastic Only!

I will only paint plastic horses. I am not picky about the body, I will paint Breyer, Stone, Hartland, Schleich, Safari, and similar makes.

I WILL NOT PAINT CHINA OR RESIN HORSES. Period.

Please don't ask me to paint your resin or china horses. I will paint plastic horses only.

Booking Information:

At this time I will only take two custom orders per month and I will not book ahead.

Colors Available:

At this time my books are open for custom orders for the following colors ONLY. Please don't ask me to do any other colors these are the only ones I am currently offering. This page will be updated if I choose to offer more in the future.

I will accept orders for Blue Black, Red Bay, Dark Bay, Red Chestnut (can be flaxen), Bay Silver, Black Silver.

Dilutes - please contact me with idea. I will not guarantee I will paint one but I might.

I will not paint roan, grey or champagne at this time.

I WILL NOT PAINT SUNBURNT BLACK. EVER.

As of November 2011 I am no longer offering pintos or appaloosas with extensive white. Due to the nature of these it takes me too long to paint them to be worth what I charge (if you would be willing to pay an extra charge for them we might be able to work something out). If you have a minimum white pinto or app in mind please contact me with photo first to see if I will do it or not.

At this time I am not offering foal coat colors. Adult models or foals that could pass as yearlings and up only please.

Turnaround time:

My turnaround time varies greatly. A solid black with little markings usually only takes a few weeks. All other colors take longer (most solid horses take between 1 month to 3-4 months). If your horse is a portrait it can take longer to get them right. Pintos and Appies can take several months depending on difficulty of pattern. This is PER horse. If you send me more than one it will take longer. Please don't send me several models to paint and expect them all done in a month. Unfortunately I have less time to just sit around and paint all day so my turnaround time is a bit longer.

Changes

I will send you approval photos when your horses are ready to be sealed. IF you want something changed I will from now on only change them once, the change will be final. Unfortunately I can't afford to hold slots for months while the owner changes their minds twenty times on what they want. So please be as accurate as you can about what needs changed so I can fix it correctly.

2012 Price List for Custom Orders

You MUST provide body. These prices are for SOLID horses. Extensive white markings and/or pinto or appaloosa patterns or more difficult white markings with lots of detail may be extra.

*******************************

Payment Information:

Body must be shipped to me, you must pay shipping both to me and back to you. Shipping will be exact shipping with no handling fees attached.

Payment may be made through Paypal or by postal money order ONLY.

Payment is expected in full when the model is completed. You have one month to pay for your model after it is completed. If you do not pay in this time you will forfeit your body and it will be resold by me to recoup my time spent on creating it. By ordering a model from me you are agreeing to pay before a month's time is up from the date finished photos are emailed to you.

If you prefer to pay for your custom model up front you may do so.

Trades:

I will accept some trades for things on my extensive want list here. Trade models must be sent in with your body. If you are unhappy with your custom you may send it back and I will send back your trade models. Please note that you forfeit the custom model in this instance, I will return your trade models once the custom model is in my possession in the state it left in. In some cases I may replace your body but that is to be worked out on an individual basis.

I'm sorry but I am no longer going to paint things for free and get scammed so people can keep their trade models and resell my custom work for a profit. I expect some sort of compensation for the time and supplies I put into each model. Especially if it is a trade taking up slots that someone would have paid me cash to fill.

********************************

Returns:

Because of my low prices, detailed approval process, and my upfront policies about quality I will not accept returns or pay out refunds on most models.

All models have LOTS of clear detailed photos sent to you before sealing and all 'flaws' will be described. If you choose to approve the horse based on this information I will take that to mean you are happy with it.

All models will be sent to you INSURED. I am not responsible for damage the post office does, you will have to take that up with them with an insurance claim.

Please note if you want a full refund and/or your trade models back your model body is the unrefundable deposit and your custom must be returned to me (in the state you recieved it in) before you will get a refund or your trade models back.
