Rules for 2010-2011
Please send all requests to vnvstables@yahoo.com with the subject title 'breeding request' or 'pedigree request' or something similar. I do not open emails with no subject line or subject lines I don't recognize from new email addresses so it is important you use one that will identify your email as a request.
There is a limit of 10 breedings per email.
They are emailed out in the order I get them in at. I do this in my spare time so sometimes it can take a few weeks to get them out, usually I get them out within a few days if I'm not backed up on them.
To request a breeding from my model horses I require the following information on each foal:
Name, Age, Color/Markings, Breed, Gender, Make/Mold.
If you are using one parent that is not mine I have the following requirements:
1. You must include the following information on the parent I do not own: Name, Age, Color/Markings, Breed, Gender, Make/Mold, Owner. I need at LEAST a sire and dam for this parent also, 2-3 gen pedigree is preferred so I can fill in that information for you on your request.
2. If not owned by you then you MUST have already had your breeding approved by the owner of the other parent.
All foals MUST be at least 3 years younger than my mares and 2 years younger than my stallions.
Fees:
All email breedings are free. I only accept email requests/breedings. I no longer do snail mail breedings the cost of printing and sending them out was more than I could ever make on fees.
All pedigrees come as a tidy little .rtf file that should open on most computers. I can send them in other formats if they won't open. As a rule most of my pedigrees come with 3 generations beyond the parents unless otherwise noted.
Breeding rules:
I do allow multiple foals per mare per year. This is technically possible thanks to embryo transfer. If this bothers you then you don't have to use my models. I simply have too many horses to keep track of mare years and too many records as it is without adding more.
All breedings MUST be approved. I keep very detailed records on every breeding I get and I will know if you are using them without permission.
All my horses are NON-AGING. However I do accept aging foals. These will be given a permanant year in my records. You however may use a birth year when requesting if you do aging though.
I accept foals of all makes and finishes. This does include most toy horses/statues and other horse shaped objects. However I only allow My Little Ponies out of my fantasy breeds. I do allow BSO (breeding stock only/paper ID) foals also. I will NOT breed horses for use in SIM games though and my parents may not be used in SIM games.
Some of my horses have special name requirements or color requirements. Some horses have notes on what horses NOT to breed them to. These will be listed in the horse's information. Please pay attention to these as your request will be denied if they are not followed.
Please do not copy my names for your horses. This is a sire/dam list not a naming list. I realize it is likely that all names have been duplicated many times over but don't just rip them off my list please.
* means a horse is imported. (r) indicates a real horse, all others are models. I do have a number of BSO (paper ID only) horses but I fill these whenever I get an appropriate body. They are now clearly marked. Real horses are used for pedigree research purposes only.
I do observe color genetics. The best rule if you are not good with colors is to pick one parent that is the same color as your foal. I am happy to help with any color related questions or suggesting parents that would produce a certain color. Chestnut to Chestnut will make a chestnut. Some of my blacks are homozygeous which means they cannot have a chestnut (or any variations of chestnut) foal. These will be noted.
I will not imbreed the following crosses, no exceptions: Sire/Daughter, Dam/Son, Uncle/Niece, Aunt/Nephew, Brother/Sister. I for the most part have mentioned when these crosses could possibly occur and listed which horses not to breed them to in their information. However I might have forgotten a few so please make note of the parents of the horses you are chosing to make sure they're not related.
I reserve the right to alter the parents chosen by you in the following instances:
Parent is too young for foal. Parent is the wrong color. Parent is too closely related to other parent.
In these instances I will do my best to find another sire/dam that are close. If I don't have any close to what you chose I will ask you what you want to do (most times I will ask before I change parents).
Please do not bother to email me 'being helpful' with lectures on my horses being the wrong colors for their breed, or telling me you already used a real mare for your foal so I can't use them, or any variations of those themes. Or basically anything telling me to change anything on my list because you are right and I am wrong. I have gotten far too many RUDE people emailing me telling me to change my list because I'm wrong and they're right. If you don't like something on my list you don't have to use my horses. It IS that simple.
I have been doing extensive pedigree assignment and model horse breeding since 1991. All my horses have the best possible pedigrees and I take pride in how much work I put into them. All real horse parents were well researched to make certain they could produce the horse WHEN I did the pedigree. As my horses don't age it is possible that eventually it may seem like there is no possible way that foal was born from those parents. I know it’s not very realistic to have non-aging horses but it is the way I do it, I certainly don’t go telling people who do aging that they’re wrong so I’d greatly appreciate those people showing me the same respect.
