Please direct all questions to: Samantha Kroese
All photos are copyright 2009 to Samantha Kroese and can NOT be used for any purpose other than this website, period. This means NO you can't borrow/link/steal my photos for ANY PURPOSE without my written permission. None of these models are for sale. None of my parents may be used without my permission, please see the rules page (link) for information on how to request them.
Please note this is a model horse (toy) breeding stable. All horses listed here are model (toy) horses or paper identities. All real horses are used for entertainment/educational purposes only and are denoted with a (r).
You will see toy horses, paper only horses (Breeding Stock Only-BSO), and foal models with older IDs on this list. I have clearly marked them all, if these things bother you please use other available parents. Parents with photos listed first, horses with no photos will be listed after them. Horses are listed by gender then age.
Warning: This page is extremely long and photo intensive, if you are on a slow internet service you may want to go to the text list ( link ) instead.

Names are limited to 25 characters, and breeder/farm suffixs are common. Colors the Lusitano can come in include: Black, Brown, Chestnut, Buckskin, Dun, Palomino, Cremelo, and Perlino. Other colors are believed rare but may be allowed with the proper documentation. There is some argument over whether Dun really exists in this breed since there seems to be an absence of grulla. It could be that the 'yellow dun' in the gene pool is actually only Buckskin. There is also a new 'Pearl' dilution that appears like a double dilute out of non-dilute parents.
NOTE ON SILVERS: Due to a recent 'correcting' email I see my note was not clear enough. Silver has been proven to exist in the Lusitano breed by genetic testing. This is true documented real life testing. It is also listed as 'rare' in Lesli Kathman's color and breed documentation (and Lesli is well known for knowing what she is talking about in that industry she does not list colors until she has solid proof).
I take great pains to make sure the information on my pages is correct. I would not have listed this infomation without proof from trusted people in the industry. There is a real stallion that has quite a fuss over him but as his name seems to be getting me unwanted traffic I have removed it. I am not involved with the real horse and have no interest in hearing those who want to disprove he exists or how pure or unpure he was or what color he was. The last I have heard about him was he tested positive for Silver (though I have not personally seen the test results). Unless you are the owner of that said horse and have his test results I do not want to discuss him. However he was not at all the sole basis of 'proof' of it being in the breed. There are others.
Chestnut HIDES Silver and so does Grey there is a large likely-hood now that people are not breeding solely for grey that they may emerge more and more in the coming years. Silver is one of the most mistaken colors that exists in horses and one I have done a lot of personal research on. (on a side note, PRE Andalusians have not been proven to carry Silver so any crosses between the breeds the Lusitano has to have the gene). I hope that makes it more clear for everyone.
I have listed several of mine as yellow dun, if this bothers you pretend they are Buckskin, whichever is the truth they have real horse lines so the genes are there. Please do not bother emailing me and arguing this point with me (or the Silver point, if it has been genetically proven it's been genetically proven).
The International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Registry does allow Lusitanos to be crossed with Andalusians and still be considered purebred one or the other.
However, this is frowned upon in the other registries. I don't care if you cross them or not but I have marked my non-crossed horses as PSL (and PRE on the Andalusian page).
